On February 1, Audra McDonald hosted the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD transmission of Porgy & Bess. Having won the Tony Award for her portrayal of Bess in the 2012 Broadway revival, Audra drew from her firsthand knowledge as she spoke with the cast and creators of the production. Bass-baritone Eric Owens and soprano April Blue starred as the title characters in James Robinson’s new production of the beloved American opera.

Encore screenings of the production can be seen on February 5, 8, and 15 in the United States; March 28 and 30 and April 1 and 5 in Canada; and on July 17 on PBS.
