Audra McDonald returns to Broadway this spring opposite Michael Shannon in the revival of Terrence McNally’s “Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.” The two-person play was last seen on Broadway in 2002 with Edie Falco and Stanley Tucci.

Audra has worked with Mr. McNally several times (“Master Class,” “Ragtime,” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman”), and this engagement helps celebrate the iconic playwright’s 80th birthday. This is her first collaboration with Mr. Shannon.

The new production, directed by Arin Arbus, will begin its limited 16-week run will begin in May as part of the 2019-20 Broadway season.
